It's an affordable phone with useful features. Palm offer their unlocked Centro smartphones for just $199. The 2007 released smartphone is available in glacier white, cobalt blue or ruby red (personally, I liked the blue one).

This week started with the rumor that Sony Ericsson will be announcing its Hikaru Walkman phone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week, offering 8GB of internal storage and 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus. The latest rumor also suggests that the official announcement of Nokia E75 also will be held Mobile World Congress on the 16th.

Palm CEO Ed Colligan says they will just focus on developing webOS and Windows Mobile devices. The bad news is there will be no more PalmOS devices released, except the Centro getting released on other carriers.

Palm just announced the sale of its two-millionth Centro a few days ago, showing a real rise in popularity. This may be due to the fact that the Centro is available in over 25 countries and is supported on 20 different carriers, though in the US, it is available on Sprint, AT&T and Verizon Wireless.
