In an effort to bring more slide out QWERTY keyboard handsets to US users HTC has finally unveiled the HTC S743. Unlike the HTC Touch Pro this smartphone offers the QWERTY keyboard and also alphanumeric keypad for fast dialing. The HTC S743 has a large 2.4-inch QVGA screen and supports the high-speed HSDPA (850/1900 MHz) network for blacking fast Internet ...

Nokia has discontinued its N810 Internet Tablet WiMAX Edition, MobileBurn reports, due to "the slow WiMAX roll out in the USA." So far, there are two WiMAX markets in USA: Sprint launched XOHM mobile broadband commercial service in Baltimore last September, while Clearwire has just launched its WiMAX service in Portland.

The blog was buzzing this week with a ton of news coming in from all ends of the spectrum. From the BlackBerry to our review of PhoneTag, we covered a lot this week, so let's get right to it.
For starters, we learned that the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone was going to be delayed until after the holiday season in ...

It seems someone has turned up the details of Sprint's Xohm WiMAX network via a semi-hideen website. And even though the site itself featured a lot of filler, it confirms some of what we suspected: 2-4Mbps downloads and 1-3Mbps uploads, varied access plans and more.

It's usually tough to summarise a week when we've had a big cellular show, and this one is little different. Of course, the show in question was CTIA Wireless 2008, held in Las Vegas, and you can review all the coverage courtesy of this tag. Of the new handsets, Sprint grabbed headlines with the Instinct by Samsung, an obvious iPhone ...

Whether WiMAX has had a successful showing at CTIA is the subject of some debate, but the hardware rolled out by Nokia, Samsung and Everex (among others) has at least made the mobile broadband technology seem more of a real prospect than before. Disappointing, then, that the whole thing should be let down by Sprint themselves: according to a company ...

Not to be outdone by Nokia's latest N810 with it's WiMAX upgrade, Samsung have sprinkled some XOHM pixie-dust onto their Q1 Ultra Premium UMPC and blessed it with high-speed wireless broadband courtesy of Sprint's new network. The compact touchscreen tablet comes with a choice of Windows Vista or XP Tablet Edition, and is powered by an Intel Core Solo ULV ...
