Alltel has launched the LG Banter, previously appearing in the wild as old version, the LG Rumor2. Main changes are the QWERTY keyboard and marketing display image that looks like UK’s Prince Harry (would make me look twice in a store).

The Rumor2, a previous model from LG is available for $50 after rebates although this level of information is not out there for Banter. Coming to you from Sprint, the Banter is know to Alltel sales staff and may be available from the 15th of March.

Compared against the Rumor2, the LG Banter has a different design. Inside, the phone has Bluetooth, support for 16GB microSD cards and display to QVGA resolution. For a camera, the Banter is reported to include a 1.3 megapixel. From the additional specifications that are available, the phone weighs in at 120g (4.23 oz), is only 2 inches in ‘physical size’ and talk time is 5.5 hours.
