Alcatel’s latest cellphone isn’t going to win any awards for functionality, but it might pick up a few fans who want some slim’n'clean design in their budget handset. The OT-V770 is a basic triband (900/1800/1900) GSM mobile with a 262k colour 176 x 220 screen and 1.3-megapixel camera, and measures just 10mm thick.

A paltry 10MB of internal memory can be supplemented by a microSD card, which is handy since Alcatel are positioning this as a replacement to your MP3 player: the media app is compatible with MP3, AAC and AAC+ formats, and the OT-V770 rocks A2DP stereo Bluetooth to cut your headphone cords.
Interestingly, the camera can also double up as a webcam for your laptop, which some might find useful; I’m assuming that requires a USB connection rather than Bluetooth. Alcatel promise 7hrs talktime from the OT-V770.
Price and availability are yet to be announced.

Since long there was no updates from Alcatel. Good to see them back. These phone looks good but need much more improvements to defeat competitors.

connection was flawless here
you just have to choose what exactly you want to do when the phone detects the usb cable
if you choose mass storage it’s connected just like you average flash stick - no drivers needed - very handy
bluetooth webcam connection will be…well f**king great!!
I hope they’ll do this on the firmware update!

Am living in the UK and curious to find out where I can purchase this phone pay as you go or just even the handset. I know Alcatel agreed for Virgin to have a Alcatel in the UK by the name of Lobster 621. But I really want this particular handset. Even if it has to be delivered from another country.
