Alereon isn’t that big a name in the mobile phone market, the company is most known for providing wireless USB chipsets in the computer market. Wireless USB allows devices like printers and scanners to connect to a computer without wires at full USB speeds.

Alereon announced that it will be debuting its first iPhone/iPod peripheral at Computex this month. The peripheral serves two purposes with an internal battery that extends the usable time between charges for the device.
The company doesn’t offer specifics on the peripheral so exactly how much run time it will add to the iPhone is unknown. The real interesting bit is that the Wireless USB function of the peripheral allows the iPhone to sync with iTunes on a Mac or PC wirelessly. I know many iPhone users have been wishing for wireless sync capabilities since the day the iPhone launched. The accessory plugs into the iPhone or iPod charge/sync port.
