Alltel is preparing to launch the long awaited CDMA BlackBerry Curve on May 1st. The CDMA BlackBerry Curve has been announced on Verizon, Sprint, and Alltel. Sprint was scheduled to release their BlackBerry Curve yesterday, and did not. It is a race to be first on the release of this phone, and it is looking like Alltel might just beat everyone else to the punch.

The CDMA variant of the BlackBerry Curve has for the most part comparable features to the GSM version on AT&T and T-Mobile that we all know and love. They include GPS, a full QWERTY keyboard, QVGA screen, 2 megapixel camera, and BlackBerry services for email. The black casing is a new color specifically for the CDMA variant. The classic titanium color we see now will also be available.
Alltel is expected to leave the GPS featured unabridged on their Curve. Other carriers opt to not include this feature so the Alltel version is particularly exciting. If Alltel does push their Curve out before Sprint and Verizon, it will be the first time Alltel has done so with a BlackBerry release.
