Amazon have announced a free application for BlackBerry devices. “Amazon App for BlackBerry” is now available as a free download directly from Amazon.com.

The application is designed specifically for the BlackBerry. It offers customers who use a BlackBerry device with a track ball a quick and simple way to find, discover and purchase products from Amazon.com. The application also spans across thousands of other retailers. Sam Hall, Director of Amazon Mobile says that “since launching our popular iPhone shopping app in December, customers have been asking us to bring a similar experience to the BlackBerry, and we are thrilled to make it available to customers today. In addition to their favorite Amazon shopping features, BlackBerry users can now access the Amazon Remembers feature for a fun and easy way to build a list of photographs showing products they want to remember for later, make price comparisons across multiple merchants, and purchase.”

The application uses Amazon Remembers. This helps customers track items they see in their daily lives and attempt to match photos of products to the same or similar products available online. The app also the offers customers access to their Amazon.com account and favorite shopping features wherever they are, such as:

• Purchase using Amazon’s 1-Click ordering and Amazon Prime
• Track packages or modify orders using the Your Account feature
• Receive personalized recommendations
• View editorial and customer reviews
• Get the Gold Box Deal of the Day
• Access to their Wish List
