Apple sells 1M iPhone 3G S’ in three days

Apple has another massive sales success on its hands with the new iPhone 3G S that launched Friday. If anyone expected the new iPhone to not sell like gangbusters, they are in need of a random drug test for sure.

Apple has said that it sold over a million of the new iPhones in the first three days of availability through Sunday June 21. The electronics giant also announced that six million users have downloaded the iPhone OS 3.0 so far.

Apple is mum on the number of geeks that shelled out their $99 for a iPhone 3G, but I am betting quite a few of those handsets have been sold as well. I wonder how many customers are still on the waiting list and were unable to get the new iPhone over the weekend.
