Apple starts recycling program for unwanted cellphones

Bored of your iPhone?  Don’t drop it in the nearest landfill, or leave it out on the porch for the seagulls to eat; Apple will now take it – and in fact any unwanted cellphone you have lying around – and recycle it.  It’s an extension of the existing iPod recycling scheme, and just as with that you simply print out a label, wrap up your unwanted tech and drop the whole bundle into the nearest post box.

Alternatively, Apple will send you custom packaging in 7-10 days if you register on their site; you can also take the old handset into an Apple store, but remember that fashionable people might see the crappy old phone you used to have and judge you.
