The deal between AT&T and Starbucks to provide WiFi to Starbucks customers is beginning it’s nationwide launch. The deal replaces T-Mobile as the provider of the WiFi service. The first locations that will see the service will be in San Antonio and Seattle. The service will continue to see new launches through 2008, with the ultimate goal being to have T-Mobile’s WiFi service phased out and replaced with AT&T by then.

Subscribers of certain AT&T services will be able to take advantage of this service free of charge. More than 7,000 Starbucks locations will have the service. The service will become available for use on May first. To access the WiFi network, all subscribers will have to do is boot up their computer, and select the ATTWiFi network.

This will increase AT&T’s already impressive amount of of WiFi hot spots. AT&T already provides more than 17,000 WiFi hot spots in the US, and over 70,000 hot spots around the world. Many of which allow AT&T customers to use them free of charge.
