As was expected, AT&T’s Mobile TV service went live on Sunday. The service is now live in 58 markets, and is expanding. The technology is Qualcomm’s MediaFLO, which runs on the 700MHz spectrum. Since this is not AT&T’s network, you will not be charged voice or data for using it. You do however have to subscribe to a Mobile TV package to use the service, the packages start at $13 a month.

At launch, the service is compatible with the Samsung Access, pictured, and the LG Vu. The Samsung Access is available now for $200 after all rebates. The LG Vu, is now available for $300 after rebates. The phones have been launched in all the markets that the Mobile TV service has been launched in. The Vu also has a non Mobile TV variant, but it was not mentioned.
The service is going to have a ton of programming. Channels include CBS Mobile, ESPN Mobile TV, FOX Mobile, NBC 2Go, NBC News 2Go, MTV Networks’ COMEDY CENTRAL, MTV and Nickelodeon, as well as PIX and CNN Mobile Live, which are both AT&T-exclusive channels on MediaFLO USA’s FLO TV service.
