AT&T Did Well in Q2 of 2008

Worth Reading?

YesNo

This morning, AT&T announced growth in its wireless sector during their report on quarterly finances. In fact, AT&T experienced 1.3 million new subscribers in the last quarter alone, bringing the total up to 72.9 million.

They are experiencing positive growth all around, especially when compared to this same time last year. AT&T wireless had a 91% boost in operating income, bringing the total to $3.1 billion. It seems that much of these increases can be blamed on increases in text messaging and MMS use, the latter rising 170%.

And you can’t count out the contribution the iPhone has made, here, as the iPhone 3G has sold just about double what its predecessor did in the same time period. That’s pretty impressive.

I, for one, am interested in seeing what Q3 brings to AT&T.
