If you are on AT&T and have been hoping for a version of the N900 form Nokia compatible with your network to be announced, it looks like that won’t happen. There were wide reports that Nokia had said it would announce an AT&T compatible version.

However, today new word comes directly from Nokia that it has no plans to offer the N900 in a WCDMA version supporting 850/1900/2100 MHz. Apparently those early reports stemmed from one report that was a pure work of fiction.

Nokia issued a statement saying, “There have been no announcements regarding a version that supports the 850/1900/2100MHz bands.” Boo on you Mr. Fake-Nokia-N900-for-AT&T story maker upper.

Why would you not make a version for AT&T.

i am a long time Nokia user (and used to be level 2 tech). its pretty sad to see Nokia’s market share slowly diminishing because of things like and amazing phone people are finally waiting for again, not available for 1 of the main carriers in the USA. worldwide this phone will be a hit. lets really get serious about the US market Nokia, don’t just say so and watch RIM, Apple, and HTC take your market share. no wonder you showed a hefty loss this quarter.
