Smarter Agent have been helping Sprint customers find new places to live for a few years now, with their GPS-enabled Apartments for Rent app; the software allows mobile users to locate available property, view details and even directly call the letting agent to make a viewing appointment.  Now the company have signed a deal with AT&T which will see Apartments for Rent available on 25 handsets in the carrier’s catalogue.

The app can be downloaded through the AT&T mall, and the carrier charges $2.99 a month for unlimited use.  Search criteria can include location, size, price and more, and many listings include photos.

Has anybody used an app like this to find their current (or a previous) apartment?  I’d be interested to hear your experiences – let us know in the comments.

  1. Thanks for the announcement PhoneMag. On AT&T the application is location-aware meaning a user can identify their location by zip code, street address, etc. You would have to have a GPS puck to make it truely GPS activated, which works with many of the phones we launched on. True GPS in the network is something AT&T may launch soon. We’re not privy to their plans but if and when they do our applications are compatible with networked based GPS systems and we hope they let us go live in that mode – that’s up to them. Thanks again, try the app it is very empowering with lot’s of rental listings across major metro areas in the US.
