In Europe and Asia, mobile TV service is something that many mobile phone users have enjoyed for years. Many handsets sold overseas come with the ability to tune into free broadcast TV on mobile devices. American’s for the most part have only had access to subscription mobile TV service.

AT&T has announced that its mobile TV service is now available in more cities around the country. The new expansion was enabled by the digital transition that took place on June 12. The vacated spectrum left behind by TV broadcasters allowed the addition of more areas.
AT&T now offers its mobile TV service in Boston, Charlotte, Cleveland, Houston, Miami, Milwaukee, Sacramento, and San Francisco, in addition to cities in California, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, North Carolina, and the Northeast. In all the latest expansion means, that coverage is available in over 80 markets. The mobile TV service costs $15 per month.
