Customers who have the Quickfire handset should be getting a letter and email, plus a free text message showing you the correct way to insert the charger plug into the device. AT&T have taken this step out of an overabundance of caution due to a handful of reports that the device may overheat if the charger plug is inserted incorrectly — that is, upside down. Click over to read the email and text message if you own a Quickfire handset. Thanks Seth!

Please take special care when charging your Quickfire GTX75 mobile phone. There have been a few reports of significant overheating of the phone when the AC Charger adapter is inserted incorrectly and forced into the phone.
The clearly marked, embossed arrow on the AC Charger adapter should always be face-up on the same side as the display screen of the Quickfire when it is inserted into the phone. See the diagram below for proper positioning and insertion of the AC Charger adapter into the phone. You should never force the AC Charger adapter into the phone.
If you have any questions, please call 1-800-801-1101.
Sincerely,
AT&T

That’s why it was named Quickfire! It gets on Fire so Quick!
there is no diagram as mentioned in the last paragraph
Thanks, let me see if att can send over the diagram. V
hello, has anyone heard the phrase if it does not fit don’t force it.
it will only fit one way,HELLO
did not force mine but in 3 mo would not hold a charge
So rather than just having a piece of shit, you now have a piece of shit that can set it self on fire! Put it infront of your neighbors door, ring the doorbell, and then run like hell! It’ll be hilarious!
I heard that the quickfire had some glitchs and had to be resent back.. when is it coming back?
My wife and I both have Quickfires and we had not had any problems. We love the phones. I agree, the plug only fits one way. If you force ANY power cord upside-down your going to have problems.
I think Apple complained about the phone cutting into their profit margin.
I really want the quickfire. Two of my friends have it and havent had problems. And there is a diagram. If not go to google, click images, and type lg quickfire charger plug and an illustration will show.
Just my 2 cents but the quickfire is not worth it! I have had problem after problem with mine. The biggest being that it acts like I have signal but will not allow calls or texts to come in or out. Its annoying and has caused me to miss a lot of calls.
It also tells me my simcard is not allowed (I’ve tried 3 different ones…)
The 2nd one the screen would not respond half the time or would respond backwards.
And now this one will not charge. Gah.
I have been through 3 quickfires now and luckily I’m getting a different phone.
