Quickstart guides for AT&T’s upcoming Vu by LG have surfaced, in advance of the handset’s release next month.  While the Vu is the carrier’s flagship handset for their new Mobile TV service, which also launches in May, it’s also a fully-featured touchscreen consumer handset and AT&T obviously think customers need some initial help getting used to it.  Although there are no new details in the documents, it does confirm that video calling (or, as AT&T would have it, Video Share) is enabled, as is both the new MediaFLO Mobile TV service and streaming Cellular Video (CV).

At CTIA Wireless we spent some hands-on time with the Vu and recorded a video demo and walkthrough of its menus: you can see that here.  Video quality seemed reasonable, and the large display (though not as large as that of the iPhone) is put to good advantage.  However the touchscreen aspect was not quite as slick as Apple’s version.

PHONE Mag also tested the Vu’s less complicated (and cheaper) sibling, the Samsung Access, together with the Mobile TV service itself.  You can see that video demo here.  The Access is also expected in May, priced at around $130 (with new two year contract and after a $50 rebate).
