Hackintosh and Gizmodo both posted screenshots and a short video of the forthcoming iPhone 2.0 firmware. New stuff easily seen consist of support for Exchange, AppStore, Parental Controls, SDK Support, more advanced calculator, Cisco VPN support, Mail mass deletion. One feature I was hoping to see but not shown or supported is Spotlight Search icons in contacts.

The level of productivity in the work force will probably drop to a record low once all the new apps become available on the iPhone. I anticipate high power execs, low-life lawyers and yes, your very own – Vincent will be sneaking away, finding excuses to play Namco’s new Pac man, Galaga or even PopCap’s Peggle, Zuma or Bejeweled.

I’m still baffled as to why Apple decided to leave out or is incapable of offering Copy and Paste on the iPhone. Tata Comunications has just announced the world's largest commercial rollout of WiMAX technology in India, where wired broadband adoption has suffered from low adoption rates. Tata has tapped Telsima Communications to install WiMAX base stations in 110 cities across India by the end of 2008. Tata plans on providing wireless broadband for both Enterprise and Retail consumers.

CitiGroup analysts have revealed plans that Apple is going to introduce 3G capable iPhones in the 2nd quarter of 2008. This is great news for iPhone lovers that feel burdened by the slow speeds offered up by Apple's current EDGE wireless. Expect to see the new 3G iPhone sometime between April and June.

The XPERIA X1 is one hot potato phone, and if Sony Ericsson is tossing it state side, I’m willing to bet the farm that AT&T will catch and run with it. I wonder how well the X1 will do against the iPhone.
