Posted on 19 February 2008

Slap me silly because I'm totally in awe that T-Mobile waisted no time responding to Verizon and AT&T's unlimited calling plans today. I just got this email in from T-Mobile stating the following: To help our customers stick together with those who matter most, and to provide the utmost value to our customers, T-Mobile today is announcing a new rate plan ... continued »

Samsung Ace from Sprint Review

Posted on 17 February 2008

In brief, the Samsung Ace runs on Sprint’s fast EVDO Rev. 0 and 1XRTT network. Unfortunately it does not support Rev. A and while roaming abroad you’re only getting GPRS. It’s a candy bar form factor with a decent size QWERTY keyboard and internal antenna; 5-way navigation button and thumb wheel for one-handed operation. Other features include Bluetooth 2.0; push ... continued »

Posted on 12 February 2008

You may not have heard of E28, but they have something particularly rare on show at the Mobile World Congress: a current, off-the-shelf handset that's running Google's Android cellphone platform.  I stopped by to shoot some video and find out exactly how well the Android OS works, away from reference designs and hardware test-beds; remember, this is basically E28's E2831 quadband ... continued »
