Bank allows deposits to be made by taking pics of a check with iPhone

One of the things that really sucks about checks rolling in on payday is that I have to get done working in time to make it to the bank and deposit them. I always seem to forget to stop by the bank, which leads to dirty looks from the wife.

I wish my bank would adopt the system that USAA is using that allows people with an iPhone to deposit checks by taking pictures of the front and back. The catch is that to use the service a person has to not only have an account with the bank, but must have credit with the bank and some sort of insurance to prevent fraud.

I bet the credit part is because if the check bounces or turns out to be bogus, they will add the amount to a credit card for you to pay back. Still, I’d take that chance and gladly never go to the bank again.
