The BBC has debuted its 24-hour live television streaming website for mobile devices. With this, comes a range of options for users to customize the way it works for them.

Opening up with eight channels, including five general news streams, the online space also offers one BBC Parliament stream. For the children, channels available include CBBC and CBeebies. Users can see the streaming video service by visiting http://www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/live/tv/.

All video displays at 176 x 144 pixels on WiFi enabled devices. The service is limited to UK residents. One other limitation is that the service will not work over-the-air. This was also launched with the BBC’s Mobile homepage. The site gives users the ability to select options such as a WAP version, the choice of more images and graphics, or the full-desktop version of the website. Users can view the news site at bbc.co.uk/mobile.
