BenQ Royal wins design award





The Taiwanese company recently showcased a new smartphone the BenQ Royal. The model recently won the iF Product Design Award for 2009.



The manufacturer has described the device as “a smart phone with powerful functions including a personalized interface and internet live messenger to make both mobility and communication easier.” The handset is said to incorporate a touch-sensitive area, located “behind the main screen” (on the back cover)which allows the user to turn e-book pages or browse photo/music files with ease.

The back cover is lighter and customized lines stand for the “meaning of digital business and e-commerce.” There is limited information about the specifications of the phone other than including a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus. As well as limited functionality and information about the nuts and bolts of the phone, release dates, carrier, location and the like is also unknown.
