Best Buy again is the victim of “Mr. Blurrycam.” This time an actual ad leaked showing what looks to be the Blackberry 8220 Pear Flip for a smoking deal.  The ad says save $399, that can only mean one thing the phone is FREE!

Not much can be seen in the ad, but the big yellow free tag can be seen from a mile away. Someone did a little digging and found out that this is an instant savings offer, meaning your walk out without paying a higher price, no mail-in rebates here. Of course this price is based on the activation of a two-year agreement through Best Buy.

The ad in question originated in the San Francisco Bay area and is believed to be an offer through all Best Buy stores. We recommend calling your local Best Buy before taking the trip down there. This would be the perfect way to score the expensive handset you know you’ve had your eyes on without dipping into the Christmas funds.

this offer is only for certain areas of the country. test markets as we call them. the sf bay area (the market i work for) has this offer. there are maybe 2 other markets doing this promotion. call to check to verify.
