AT&T have finally updated their website to offer the “obsidian black” Palm Centro, one of the more recent colour variants of the recently million-selling smartphone. The handset has been available in AT&T stores (and SIM-free unlocked in Europe) for a while now, so someone has obviously only just got around to kicking the web maintenance team.
Priced at the same $99.99 (after the usual misery of rebates and discounts) as the white Centro we reviewed on launch day, the black version also has a 1.3-megapixel camera, full QWERTY keyboard and 2.2-inch touchscreen display.
“From the get-go you can share songs with Napster and Yahoo!, and there’s a music ID application for holding the phone up to a speaker and identifying which song is playing (It surprisingly identified some pretty unique music – I had to go pretty deep to trick it). Photos (from the 1.3 megapixel camera) can be shared via MMS or email, saved in a digital album on the Centro itself, or uploaded to a web-based gallery. The Centro comes with an XM Satellite Radio application straight out of the box. Furthermore, users can visit the AT&T Mall and shop for ringtones, wallpapers, graphics and more. The TeleNav GPS system is there for directions, maps and points of interest”PHONE Mag AT&T Centro review
