DoCoMo has received as many as 30 complaints claiming that the Blackberry’s keyboard area heats up to above normal levels. No injuries or damage have been reported and the issue appears to be specific to units sold in Japan.

Coming only days after release the phone is already getting the wrong attention. Reuters reports that while that is a relatively small number and apparently temperatures “remained within the safety range of regulatory standards,” the companies have agreed to halt sales in Japan until the issue has been examined”.
Differences in the model of the phone were included to suit the terrain of the country. The problem might be something to do with the camera-free variant in the region or the fourth 3G band of 800 MHz. Battery problems have been reviewed and ruled out so that actual cause of the problem is a mystery.
