BlackBerry OS 4.5 coming this month

The Boy Genius has gotten his hands on an internal PowerPoint image from BlackBerry and it unloads a heaping helping of information. For starters, the OS 4.5 will be coming mid-September on AT&T and will hit several devices including the BlackBerry 8820, 8120, 8310 and the 8300.

So, if you already have a BlackBerry, you can get the updated OS on AT&T in just a week or two. However, if you wait a little longer, the above-mentioned devices will ship in mid-October with the new OS pre-installed.

And just to refresh your memory, OS 4.5 will include remote server search, video recording, media player updates, the ability to update Office documents and the ability to format HTML emails. Some of the new devices will also feature automatic log in on Wi-Fi.

Sweet! The 4.5 has been a great beta. Glad to see it’s finally moving to production and AT&T isn’t going to snub it.
