Only the other day, reports about Clear Channel’s the rising popularity of iheartradio for the iPhone was released. Now, BlackBerry gets another choice from Pandora.

Pandora allows users to create personalized “stations” by using the names of a favorite artists, songs or genres. The service then matches similar musical selections with users’ original search. Offered to listen for free, the service is limited to listeners within the US. So that part made me cry a little inside.

I appreciate that for BlackBerry owners like myself, I did get a sweet apology: ” We believe that you are in Australia. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative.” The service does however work for US residents with BlackBerry Bold, Curve 8310, 8320, and 8330, Pearl 8100, 8120, 8130, with more supported devices coming soon.
