It’s a day of BlackBerry news, which is normally enough to get me reaching for my meds, but since it’s not entirely about minute variations of the Pearl I’ll try to stay relatively sober.  First off, we’ve details of T-Mobile’s upcoming 8820 and BlackBerry Pearl 8120, the former dropping into the upgrade programme by this coming Monday (March 24th) and select stores on April 7th, while the latter will make it to stores by April 14th.  The 8120 also seems to have benefited from a software update somewhere along the way, adding video capture to its talents.

More news on the CDMA BlackBerry Curve 8330 plus the new 3G BlackBerry after the cut!

Sprint BlackBerry Curve 8330

Electronista are reporting that the PinStack forums are awash with news of the CDMA BlackBerry Curve 8330, which will be available on Sprint and Telus.  The latter is expected to be selling the the GPS-equipped, 2-megapixel (with video recording) toting handset for $200 with a new three-year plan, or $480 handset-only, while Sprint pricing is as yet unknown.  Meanwhile Brightpoint are apparently planning to sell the Sprint Curve 8330 on April 16th, when they’ll be asking for $599.99.  Initial reports suggest this Curve is running v4.3 of the BlackBerry OS and supports voice notes, but lacks WiFi.  It’ll be available in titanium (not real titanium, naturally) at first, with a red version rumored to drop a couple of months down the line.

Finally, further news on the 3G HSDPA BlackBerry that RIM co-exec Jim Balsillie confirmed was in the pipeline back in mid-February, with company president Mike Lazaridis telling the Financial Times [via Electronista] that he has a prototype of the high-speed data smartphone.  Speculation about the handset suggests it is the BlackBerry 9000, with a full QWERTY keyboard, 480 x 320 display, GPS, WiFi and HSDPA.  It’s possible they could reveal the device at CTIA, with a European commercial launch following in May.
