To continue with the BlackBerry Storm news onslaught, Vodafone is offering a super deal for their customers that want to make use of this device. In fact, if you sign onto a contract for 18 months with a £35 or more monthly fee, you’ll get the Storm free.
 

This is a big deal in the world of touchscreens. Even with contracts, the devices typically range in price form $100 to several hundred dollars. To just agree to a contract of a certain amount per month and then get the device free, this is somewhat of a game changer.

This is no doubt an effort to remain directly competitive with the iPhone by giving consumers the option to eliminate the typically pricey cost of the device itself. Pretty smart move by RIM and Vodafone on this one. We’ll have to see how it plays out, though.
