Loading ...BlackBerry officially announced that the BlackBerry Thunder will now be known as the Blackberry 9500. This touchscreen iPhone contender will be launched with Vodafone and Verizon Wireless.
The wide touchscreen on the BlackBerry 9500 Thunder will have a resolution of 360 x 480, giving at an even more crisp display than what’s currently available or what’s coming in the near future (read: iPhone and iPhone 3G).Another interesting feature about the BlackBerry 9500 is that it will reportedly launch with OS 4.7.0.
This may just be another “iPhone Killer” getting ready to hit the market. There is no word yet on pricing or when it will be available, but the BlackBerry 9500 has all Blackberry lovers anxiously awaiting its arrival.

Do you have a link to the official announcement? I’ve been reading about this for a while now and want to believe it (although I’ll still have to try it out before buying over a “regular” Blackberry) but want to see something from the company before getting my hopes up.
