Blockbuster and Motorola working on streaming media

Blockbuster was one of the most popular destinations for movie and game fans looking to grab the latest rentals for a long time. The rental giant has lost much of its popularity in the face of new services like Redbox and Netflix.

Blockbuster and Motorola have announced that they are working together to bring mobile phone users access to streaming on-demand content and movies for select handsets. You can count on the feature being aimed at the higher-end devices and smartphones.

It’s nice to see Blockbuster embracing new delivery methods for films. I am still counting the days when we can rent streaming movies on the day and date they hit stores online. I hope that that day will be coming along with access on mobile devices sooner rather than later.
