C-Motech showed off the world’s first dual mode WiMax EVDO USB dongle at CTIA Wireless 2008 and it’s quite a versatile little bugger. In fact, the CMU-300 supports the WiMax standard of IEEE 802.16e-2005 and EVDO Rev A. HSDPA wireless networks are also included in on the support list. I mean, is there anything this thing doesn’t support?

The super good news is C-Motech has just made a deal with a carrier in the U.S. so those of us on the Stateside will get access to this dual-mode adapter sometime in November.

And even though WiMax hasn’t been widely accessible in the U.S. all things are pointing to a serious expansion in the area. With Sprint XOHM on board and now the Korea-based C-Motech, things are looking up for WiMax.
