CES might be full of new tech-toys, but there’s also plenty of existing gadgetry repackaged and sent out masquerading as something new. Verizon have seemingly done just that, with their SMT5800 smartphone based on the HTC Vox. Windows Mobile 6 is there, and they’ve given it a fresh, metallic colour scheme, but otherwise it’s the same candybar-slider with QWERTY keyboard, EVDO and a 2-megapixel camera.

Bluetooth 2.0 (that Verizon will allow you to use to tether the SMT5800 to your laptop), 64MB of RAM and 128MB of flash memory, a 2.4-inch 240 x 320 display and a microSD slot compatible with up to 8GB cards round out the features.
The SMT5800 is available now, priced at $249.99 with a two-year contract.
