Another from the ‘Cherry Picks’ event the SlashGear team attended at CES today, the zBoost zPersonal is a cellphone amplifier that can turn a network blind-spot into a signal hotspot.  The compact box - which looks a little industrial, true, but all that cabling is so you can hide it out of the way - picks up any carrier’s signal (with the exception of Nextel) and boosts it in your home, office or underground bunker.

As a kit, the zPersonal comes with everything you need to get started, including a small window mount unit and an indoor antenna.  It supports both voice and data calls, and is based on known technology rather than those sticky pads you see advertised at the back of magazines.

Available now, the zBoost zPersonal costs around $170.
