Fashion-branded phones like the LG Prada and Samsung’s Giorgio Armani might have the logos that count, but they’ve really just been standard handsets which happen to have designer blessings. Fred de Garilhe’s Chanel concept, however, is actually a piece of fashion design in itself: the slider resembles a makeup compact when closed, but has twelve embedded optical fibres that project numbers, screen content and indicators onto the glass.
That means it’s light and, of course, madly attractive since blue is oh-so-fashionable. Chanel themselves had nothing to do with the design, and sadly there’s no plans for any production run.
