Cricket adds new camera phone to line called CAPTR

Cricket Wireless is a pre paid wireless provider that we have talked about before. The company caters to people who are looking for lower cost service with no hidden fees. Today Cricket announced a new handset called the CAPTR that it claims to be one of the lowest cost camera phones around.

The device has a VGA resolution camera with zoom and can access the Internet, the device is a triband phone, and it features Bluetooth as well. Cricket also equips the device with its MyHomeScreen for one touch access to information.

The device sells for $129.99 in stores or if you order online, you can get a $50 instant discount bringing the price to $79.99. That seems expensive for a very basic handset to me.

  1. Cricket has some strong selling points but none strong enough to get me away from Verizon considering almost every one I know has verizon therefor I use almost 0 minutes. Plus I’m not one of those people that eat phones every couple months and goes out and gets a new one. So my phones are always free or almost free every 2 years.
