Cricket Wireless isn’t a big name in the wireless mobile phone market. The company offers traditional pre-pay mobile service and post-paid mobile service as well. Today Cricket announced it has added a new smartphone to its offerings.

The device is the Motorola Evoke and it offers a 2.8-inch touchscreen with an on-screen keyboard and a traditional slide out numeric keypad. Cricket says that it worked with Motorola to develop the Evoke. Other features of the handset include a 2-megapixel camera that can record video, 3G connectivity, and social networking capability.
The Evoke is a tri-band CDMA device and supports up to 8GB of memory via microSD cards. Power for the phone comes from an internal Lithium Ion battery with 1170 mAh of power providing up to 330 minutes of talk time and up to 475 hours on standby. The device sells for $299.99.
