The cell phone carrier, Cricket, just received a serious boost today by announcing a new high-end phone on their service. It’s the Motorola QA4 Evoke, and it’s sure to attract some attention, considering it’s the only touchscreen phone on the carrier.

The interface on this phone is gesture-based and allows you to perform gestures like swiping between different screens. Features include a microSDHC card slot, GPS and a 2-megapixel camera.
Cricket only offers unlimited plans and they do not subsidize their phones, so you can get the Evoke now for $299. However, there is a special $279 rate for those that pre-order online. We’re not yet sure when the phone will be available in retail stores.
