The economy in America is bad, we all know that. People are out of work and some of the biggest corporations in the country are going bankrupt. The government is trying all sorts of things to stimulate the economy to help consumers and companies by encouraging spending.

CTIA, the wireless industry association announced this week that it has filed an ex parte with the FCC. The filing highlights the significant impact that the wireless industry is making to the economy in both the short term and long term in America.

Among the highlights of the filing are that the wireless industry added almost $100 billion to the U.S. gross domestic product in 2007. The industry also claims to help with the number of available jobs with more than 2.4 million Americans directly or indirectly employed in the wireless industry. According to CTIA, the compensation for those in the wireless industry is 50% higher than the national average of other production workers as well.
