The sheer number of smartphones that are lost or stolen around the world each month is staggering. According to reports, about 10 million phones are stolen each month in the UK alone. The big problem is that with the proliferation of smartphones having your phone stolen can also give the thief access to corporate and private networks.

F-Secure announced today that it will be releasing an enhanced version of the F-Secure mobile security suite that offers advanced anti-theft technology. The new version of the security application will be available on June 24 for Windows Mobile users.

The new anti-theft feature offers the ability to remotely lock the phone and wipe data from the device as well. The anti-theft features are activated by sending a text message to the phone. Changing the SIM card also activates the anti-theft features.
