Last year the FCC released images of the “Clio 100″ and “Clio 200″, which some took to be as-yet unseen UMPCs coming to the US’ GSM and CDMA networks; further examination strongly suggested that this was almost correct, but that far from being new models the two Clio were in fact American versions of the HTC Shift. Now, with the user manual for the Clio 100 going live, both devices are confirmed: the 100 being a GSM/HSDPA-enabled UMPC likely for AT&T, and the 200 the CDMA/EVDO version for Verizon and/or Sprint.

The HTC Shift has received masses of coverage since its announcement, particularly due to its ability to dual-boot into both Windows Mobile 6 and Windows Vista. While no US carrier has publicly announced that it will be carrying the device, recently leaked roadmaps for Vodafone UK did suggest that the operator will be releasing it for UK customers in Q2 of this year.
