Sure it looks like a typical HTC smartphone but wow – this is one of the first rare shots of the Android prototype phone caught in the wild.

Even in early form, it’s light and fast, much faster than the desktop emulator at times. And as a longtime programmer, he thinks it’s a lot more put together than Window Mobile 5 on the backside of things.

Even though this is only a prototype, all things point to great things to come from the Android platform. I have to agree with Gizmodo that HTC designs remind me too much of Windows Mobile, so a fresh design and layout is welcome with open arms.
