Google Maps, has now been updated to version 3.0.1. This is available for both Professional and Standard versions of Windows Mobile.

There are no new features added by the update. It does however has a few bugs specifically related to Google Latitude. To start with, Google Latitude is now updating your location properly, while running in the background and once you have closed Google Maps.
One thing to keep in mind, when Google Latitude is in background location update mode, the feature would be able to acquire data from cell towers only without options for usage of Wi-Fi or GPS. This measure seems to be done in order to preserve battery life, but have in mind that it maintains a constant data connection. To ensure proper device detection, use your phone’s original browser, such as Internet Explorer Mobile.
