With so many companies offering applications through App Stores and the like, the market for big box stores to help out gets closed off more and more. Handango is actually reaching out to stores and has made a deal that will even include some apps to be sold in store on memory cards.
Handango who globally sells and distributes smartphone applications around the world has made a deal with Best Buy to bring applications to their stores worldwide. Best Buy Mobile will have a content catalogue for customers wit h applications ranging from entertainment titles and games to business and productivity titles.
The applications offered will be for a variety of mobile platforms including Windows Mobile, Blackberry, Palm, and Symbian S60 smartphones. The applications will be available for purchase though Best Buy’s in-store digital “Mobile Genie” system. Your guess is as good as ours on this one. From there the Handango client will be installed on the phone and customers can continue to purchase apps as they wish.
