Vincent has been spending some hands-on time with the new Samsung Instinct that’ll be exclusively available on Sprint from June. So far we’re still waiting for his feedback - and he’s a dedicated iPhone addict, so the Instinct will have to live up to high standards! - but we thought you’d enjoy these live photos from the CTIA Wireless show floor.

Too bad it uses Windows Mobile. I just tried two Sprint WM phones (iTouch and whatever) and returned them, as I had to reset them a few times a day. Sometimes they’d hang when the phone rang!

  2. Chris Davies says:

Grimmy, it doesn’t use Windows Mobile - it’s Samsung’s own mobile OS.

  3. Carl Martens says:

Pretty cool, but it still looks to be only second best to the iPhone…just like the rest of the clones.

on every site i’ve been to everyone says this is not original and is copying the iphone.

    1. the iphone isn’t the first touch screen phone.

    2. How else do you make an awesome phone without a touch screen?

  6. John Cipolletti says:

The phone doesn’t seem that great but what blows my mind is that the phone will be $500 and then service will be close to $100 a month. This is a phone and it could cost a total of close to $3000 over the 2 year contract. With the iphone that is unlocked and a two year contract with T-mobile, a cost of $1120 is the result. Isn’t this a big difference in price? I thought in competition price is also a matter not only performance.

HI THERE DOSE ANY ONE HEARD OF THE 5GB DATA LIMIT IF SOO WHAT WILL THAT DO FOR 3G CELLPHONES THAT ARE JUST NOW ARIVING LIKE SPRINT INSTINCT WOUNDER IF 3G CELLPHONES SELLS WILL SLIP UP WITH THE 5GB DATA LIMIT

  8. james braselton says:

WOUNDER IF 3G SELLS WILL FAIL TOO THE 5GB DATA CAP LIMIT LIKE THE SPRINT INSTINCT

  9. Alec says:

how much will this phone cost?

  10. Michael Pitts says:

This is in response to John Cipolletti reply. Where are you getting your figures from? 1) The Samsung Instinct is going to be $279.99 after mail in rebate to compete against the Iphone, 2) The Instinct can be placed on any of the Everything plans you are not forced to go onto the $100 plan. i know that you are gonna ask me how do i know all this info, the reason why i know is because i am a Data Specialist for Sprint.

  11. Antonio Valenti says:

They never discussed the price, but it seems to be well worth it with instant rebates and mail in rebates unlike the IPhone. The IPhone has services that you have to get when get the phone and makes the monthly bill at least 200-300 a month ask anybody. Sprint has a unlimtited data plan for 30 plus your voice plan and thats it or the all in one unlimited for 99. I’ll definitely be getting one.

  12. mgb says:

Sprint and Samsung said it should be priced at under 300 dollars.

  13. samsung instinct store says:

I would pay $500 for it!

  14. Pail says:

My iPhone bill comes to roughly $70 per month. Where do you get the price of $200 to $300 for services that one has to get? Stop spreading FUD about the iPhone.

The Instinct is not a bad phone, but it’s not a killer. The iPhone is a powerful small mobile PC platform that just happens to have a phone & MP3 player built in. The new update on June 9 will make that much clearer.

  15. Robert says:

I played with an instinct in a sprint store and couldn’t even sign into my ebay. Any ideas as to why? seems anywhere you need a username and password, phone won’t let you?
