Hands on with the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220

The BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 was just announced the other day, but we’ve already gotten a hands on look at the device. This smartphone in flip form hasn’t been done justice by the press photos. In a word, it’s pretty.

This first time ever BlackBerry smartphone in a flip is lightweight and feels good in the hand. It has two screens with clear quality, an external 128 x 160 LCD and an internal 240 x 320 LCD. Running the new RIM OS, this phone performs up to the standards of its appearance.

This device includes a SureType keyboard and we’re really looking at this one in a whole new light. It has a supposed 14 day standby battery life and a 4 hour talktime life. We’ll have to see how it actually performs but for now, our hopes are high.
