The FCC has just approved a new phone from Pantech. It’s a dual-slider with a strong resemblance to the Pantech Ocean. But the really interesting thing is its Helio branding.

This phone has a QVGA display, a QWERTY keyboard and a regular numeric keypad. This is a definite update from the Ocean and has an overall slimmer look with more of a bent on style.

Other features include stereo Bluetooth, a microSD card slot, EVDO 3G, HTML web browsing and a 2-megapixel camera. A flash is built-in and you can record some video, as well. Virgin Mobile, as you may remember, recently acquired Helio. They have even publicly confirmed their commitment to launch plans made by Helio prior to the acquisition. We also learned that the Ocean 2 would be released in the near future. It is very likely then that the OZII is in fact, the Ocean 2.
