Helio’s Mysto – which we looked at here – might have gone on “limited” release last December, but it was certainly difficult to find: in the two stores that stocked it, you needed to specifically request the slim, mirror-fronted handset. Now, however, our friends at Helio tell us that the cellphone – based on Samsung’s U600 – has been fully released, and is available for $149 in stores (Helio and otherwise) and online.

Boasting a 2.2-inch QVGA display, the Mysto has GPS to take advantage of Helio’s Google Maps, location-tagged photos, Garmin turn-by-turn navigation and, new, WHERE and TellMe. While WHERE is a free service that flags up businesses and weather updates relevant to your geographical location, TellMe is part of the Mysto’s “Say a Command” voice-recognition suite and lets you search for local results verbally. These are presented complete with phone numbers, maps and turn-by-turn directions, and you can send on the findings via SMS text message. TellMe costs $2.99 a month on top of the normal Helio subscription.

As well as all the location-aware functionality, the Mysto has a 2-megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom, the company’s usual Helio Player media app and stereo Bluetooth support, the full messaging suite as found on the Ocean smartphone, 100MB of internal memory and a microSD slot that supports up to 4GB cards. The electrostatic keys on the front of the slider have haptic feedback.

I don’t know about the price tag of $149.99, because I was able to pick it up online at http://www.heliobuy.com/helio-mysto.html for just $49.99. Anyone know where I can get the accessories from?
