According to a leak today, Hitachi will be launching a phone that is capable of recording HD video. It’s called the Hi-Vision Cam Wooo, at least according to the packaging, and it’s only the second phone to sport this HD video recording option. The first was the Samsung Omnia HD.

This new phone is slim and trim and swivels. It will have a 5-megapixel camera that can record 720p video. Face detection is also included, plus HDMI video output. It also supports up to 8GB of storage through a microSDHC card slot.
Since this was just a leak, we don’t have full specs as of yet, but the LCD display is about 3-inches with a 480 x 800 resolution. Rumor has it the Hitachi Hi-Vision Cam Wooo will be officially announced by KDDI as a part of their summer offerings in Japan.
