HP set to announce a new smartphone

While HP might not be a household name when it comes to cell phones, they have entered the market in the past with their HP iPAQ 910. However, now the company is rearing up to produce another device in the same series meant to target business people and consumers, alike.

Set to make its debut in Europe, the latest iPAQ will feature a touchscreen, keyboard, Windows Mobile 6.1 and have Internet access. The key contrast between this latest version of the device and the previous one is this one will be targeted to those outside of the business world, as well and will be available in retail stores.

We should see the latest iPAQ within two months in Europe. Another iPAQ launched in June and was intended for business folks. Sales fall behind Nokia and RIM, though it does have a strong world-wide presence.
